This article covers what to do if your business ends up with more than one Hiya account, if an account needs to be closed, or if ownership of an account needs to move to someone else. These situations can affect both Number Registration and Branded Call, since both rely on the same underlying account.

Closing or abandoning an account created in error
If an account was created by mistake — for example, a duplicate of one your business already has — submit a request to have it closed. Include the name and email address associated with the account you want closed.
How registered numbers move to the surviving account
If your business has two accounts and one is being closed, any phone numbers already registered under it need to move to the surviving account first, or that registration is lost when the account closes.
This is handled on request rather than automatically. When you submit your request, be clear about which account is closing and which is the surviving account, so support moves the numbers in the right direction.
Transferring ownership
How you transfer ownership depends on which product your account is set up for:
- Branded Call accounts can add users directly. From the Users page, add your colleague as a new user and assign them the Admin role (see Users and user roles). Once they've accepted the invitation and completed account setup, they can remove your user account from the Users page.
- Number Registration accounts can't add users directly — submit a request with your colleague's name and email address, and support will invite them to the console with the Admin role. Once they're active, remove your own user account from the Users page.
Either way, this keeps the account itself — and everything registered under it — intact, while moving control to the new Admin.
When every Admin has left the company
This follows the same process as closing an account: submit a request with the name and email address associated with the account.
Before the account can be deleted, any numbers still registered to it need to be removed from the console. If nobody at the business still has console access to do this, mention that in your request so support can handle it as part of the closure.
